Sharon says won't freeze settlement expansion

Zionist Prime Minister Ariel Sharon said Tuesday his government wouldn't accept a key clause in the Mitchell report calling for a total freeze in Jewish settlement expansion in the West Bank and Gaza Strip.

Speaking in a press conference in Jerusalem Tuesday evening, Sharon said that while he considered the report a sound base for "ending terror and violence," his government would continue to meet the "the needs of the settlement stemming from natural growth," a cliché many observers take as a euphemism for building more settlements.

The Zionist premier said his government wouldn't confiscate more Palestinian land "for the time being," but added that land could be confiscated for opening for-Jews-only bypass roads serving what he called the "security needs" of the settlements.

Sharon, a certified war criminal with a long bloody past against the Palestinian civilian population, called the Palestinian Authority a "terrorist entity," saying "it is indulging in acts of terror against us."

Israeli routinely labels all acts of Palestinian resistance against Zionist occupation as "terrorism." Sharon refused to give any commitment to implement outstanding agreements
with the Palestinian Authority, such as the third phase of redeployment from the West Bank.

Instead, he called on Egyptian President Husni Mubarak and Jordan King Abdullah II to exert pressure on Palestinian Authority Chairman Yasser Arafat to end the intifada.

Sharon bragged about the so-called Zionist democracy, saying: "we are the only democracy in the region," ignoring the systematic and institutionalized discrimination against non-Jews in the Zionist state.
