منع الحجاب في فرنسا-تحرك لنصرة الإسلام

بدلا من الوقوف مكتوفي الايدي يمكننا ان نقوم بعمل بسيط احتجاجا على القانون الذي تنوي فرنسا اصداره لمنع ارتداء الحجاب في المدارس و المصالح الحكومية...يمكننا ارسال رسائل الكترونية لموقع وزارة الخارجية الفرنسية نندد فيها بهذه الفكرة و نعبر عن وجهة نظرنا تجاهها كمسلمين. اتمني ان لا يستهين احد بالفكرة لأن هذا هو الشيء الوحيد الذي نستطيع عمله حتي نجد ما نقوله لله سبحانه و تعالى عندما يسألنا عما فعلنا في موقف مثل هذا. سأرفق الصيغة التى ارسلتها انا للوزارة حتى يستعملها من يريد استعمالها مع اضافة توقيعه فقط. الرجاء نشر هذه الفكرة بين اكبر عدد ممكن من المسلمين لانه كلمازاد عدد الرسائل كلما كا اثرها اكبر.

Dear Sirs
It has been internationally recognized that France is one of the most sincere adherents to and protectors of human rights, including the freedom of religion and the right to privacy. France is the role model for a secular country, where the various ethnic and religious groups have coexisted and have expressed their religious and cultural practices freely. Together with the other Western countries, France has assumed the leadership of the human rights movement, ratifying and acceding to the various human rights treaties. In this context, Muslims around the world have been shocked by the French intention to issue a law that prohibit Muslim women from wearing the veil (hijab) in schools and governmental institutions. As Muslims, we believe that such a law is a violation of the Muslim women’s right to freedom of religion and religious observance. Wearing the veil does not affect the secular nature of the State by any means since it does not harm the other religious groups in the French society and does not constitute a threat to the security of the State as well.
It is important to note that there is a tremendous difference between the veil, on the one hand, and the cross and the skullcaps, on the other hand. While the cross and the skullcaps are religious signs that distinguish certain religious groups, the veil is a religious obligation that Muslim women must comply to. By wearing the veil, Muslim women comply to one of their religious commitments. The veil is not meant to be a distinctive religious sign that distinguishes Muslims from non-Muslims, which is clarified by the fact that Muslim men do not use any kind of distinctive religious signs.
In the light of the above-mentioned facts, we urge the French government to refrain from preventing Muslim women from observing their religion freely by the prohibition of veil-wearing in schools. By doing so, the French government forces Muslim women either to stop their education, or to give up one of their religious duties. We believe that such a decision might affect the relationship between Muslims around the world and the West, towards which they have already taken a hostile attitude for various reasons. Furthermore, such an offensive act certainly will deliver a fatal blow to the international efforts to bridge the gab between the Islamic and the Western civilizations, leaving Muslims depressed and frustrated.
For our surprise, Shaykh al-Azhar in Egypt has declared that France has the right to prevent Muslim women from wearing the veil in schools. However, we assert that such a declaration is merely a personal opinion that does not represent the viewpoint of the majority of Muslims. And this fact is quite clear form the response of various religious scholars to the declaration. Given our deep confidence in the French commitment to the protection of human rights and civil liberties, we call upon the French government to reconsider the issue of the veil.
