Arrow The Dynamic WebClient Platform

The Dynamic WebClient Platform, "DWP".
The Dynamic WebClient Platform is the development environment for applications based on the Dynamic WebClient Architecture. This environment enables developers to quickly (re)develop Progress based Windows applications for fast internet deployment. Using the Dynamic WebClient Platform does not mean that the existing applications are to be completely rewritten. Often it is sufficient to redevelop specific key parts of the front-end of the application, leaving the rest of the application intact. Working at a regular base with Progress ADM2 like the Appbuilder, the programmer engineers a window and after finishing it all the screen information will be stored in a file, including the screen definitions. With the Dynamic Webclient Platform, the programmer can develop the same window, but instead of saving the program in a file, the program will be saved in the repository database on the server. A set of tools is included in the Dynamic Webclient Platform.
From this very moment you can build superfast applications, based on a solid architecture, useful for the Internet and wide- and local area networks. In fact, with the Dynamic WebClient Architecture you do not have to wait for UMTS frequencies to become available to provide wireless access to your Progress applications; a standard mobile telephone with a 9600 baud connection is sufficient to run DWA applications from anywhere in the world. This claim leaves major industry players such as Oracle and IBM out in the cold.

When do you need the DWP.
If you make use of a Progress application, and you have users traveling around or you have external business units on your country or even around the world, then you should use the DWP. Normally the external users can not work with your business applications because the performance is poor. If you develop the key parts of the application your external users are using with the DWP, your performance increases spectacularly. You don't need to invest in speeding up your hardware or in communication equipment, you can even use normal telephone lines. The DWP works fine on the internet, but you don't need to use the internet, you can also use leased lines or dial-up lines.
Take the DWP Test Drive!
You do not have to believe our sales pitch. All you have to do is take a moment to experience and judge a DWP demo application yourself!
You can run a DWP demo application over the internet right from this web site. With just a single click you can download and install the latest client side DWP code, less than 400 KB including images. If you don't have Progress WebClient installed that will automatically be installed on your machine as well.
Needless to say that the demo application itself always installs any upgrades automatically before starting.
Please fill in the form below and we will email you your personal user code and password.
Enjoy your first internet WebClient experience!
