RE: The 'Mobi Nil Swindle

Dear Mrs. Albright,

Thank you for the time you gave me for our conversation. As promised, I am
sending the 'written account of our attempt at doing Business in Egypt.
I was assigned to a project in Egypt on Behalf of one of the biggest
telecommunication companies in America. Interested in Bidding and competing
for a GSM phone system in Egypt, I arrived in Cairo with the CEO of the
Telecommunication Company.
We went to the proper ministry to register for this competitive bid and to
reveal our interest. A. man called us that same evening at our hotel, then
unknown to us, Naguib Sawiris. He invited us to dinner, which we accepted
and so he came to pick us up. When we met him, he was in Business dress but
looked like an Italian pimp.
He took us to a sleazy cabaret he told us his f amily owns. He then brought
his young brother and three Russian cabaret girls and we were told that the
girls could be a gift during our stay in Egypt.
During the dinner, he and his Brother told us that there would be no tender
for the cellular company. That this bid was cooked and that it was in the
Sawiris' control that we were or not included in this acquisition.
Both Naguib Sawiris and his Brother Nassef who was half drunk were very
pushy and sure of themselves. We told them that we must tender and that it
is illegal to agree with them. That this is against the law in the VS and
certainly so in Egypt etc. They said that we could perhaps Be their small
partners But that they would Be in total control.
The following day Naguib Sawiris called us: dinner again in another shady
cabaret nightclub which he also said he was the owner of. That night he
Brought with him two Beautiful Egyptian girls whose age could not have
exceeded 16 or 17 years old. He said they were hot Moslem Egyptian students
who need the money, and again mentioned that they could be our bed lady
gifts.
During the course of that evening Naguib Sawiris had the company of an
Egyptian government official who introduced himself as Minister Talaat
Hammad. The minister was very pushy and told us that there was a £200
million Egyptian pounds bribe fee of which Kamel el Ganzouri, the Prime
Minister, would get £100 million and one of the President's sons (Gamal)
would get the other £100 milion Balance.
We did not go any further with Naguib Sawiris or this Government hoodlum. We
apologized for not violating laws; we were polite and left.
The next day we returned to the proper ministry to register our interest to
compete, but were told to come back the next day. As we arrived at the
hotel, "we found that all our documents regarding the competition for the
cellular telephone company had been stolen from our rooms. An hour later
Naguib Sawiris called to suggest we meet with him again: we said no.
We asked our American office to immediately send another two sets of
documents. Two days later we deposited our interest with the proper ministry
and left a complete set of documents etc. etc. Two weeks later we followed
up with the ministry and were told that: the ministry has never received any
documents from our company.
Another team from the VS was sent with new documents, but our team was given
the run around at the ministry. And again, like magic, Naguib Sawiris knew
who our people were in Cairo and offered them dinners and fun girls. The
team was told not to see him and to beware of collusion with these people.
But the Minister, Mr. Talaat Hammad, came to the hotel lobby demanding a
meeting with our team and was again very pushy. He acted like a government
official with authority and in a very threatening manner. He plainly told
our people that the Egyptian Government wants our company to fully
co-operate with Nagmb Sawms and that this project is a Sawzns project by
order of Preszdent :Mou6arak.
Finally, now we hear that this whole tender was arranged. The Sawiris
artificially lost a license tender to a group of bidders that included the
Alkan Group. Then the Sawiris cried and protested in order to be awarded the
privitization of the original Government public telephone company: Arento
now MobiNiL This company was by far worth a lot more than the Sawiris and
the 'MobiNil Group paid for it and should have been sold at a higher price
(please see following table).

Who did the mathematics of the. Arento privatization? Let us not forget that
Arento not only had a license but all the equipment and80 '000 established
subscribers too. Our company would have paid VS$ 664 million (EGP 2:271
billion) more than MobiNil for this ongoing business with immediate cash
flow.
MobiNil was just given for a bribe as a gift by the Prime Minister, Mr. el
Ganzouri furthermore, it is appalling that in a country as very poor as
Egypt the Sawiris' have been allowed to rob at last 2 billion pounds
immediately. And over the next 4 years it will be several billion pounds
more stolen from the poor Egyptian people.
We honestly feel that the Mobinil cellular phone company was given to the
Sawiris in a very corrupt manner. Also, this company should be fallen away
from these amoral Sawiris bandits because the transaction was not a legal
tender, as it is stipulated by the Egyptian law (i.e. to have a full legal
competitive tender).
In a descent country this dishonest Minister (Talaat Hammad) would be fired
and prosecuted, and this project would be re-tendered internationally and
honestly. The Egyptian Government and people should gain the two billion
pounds that the Sawirs' stole from them, now. Plus there will be 2 to 3
billion Egyptian pounds in addition by the year 2001. A total of 4 to 5
billion Egyptian pounds stolen from the poor people.
I appeal to you Mrs. Albright and ask you to initiate that all aid to Egypt
from the American taxpayers be stopped immediately. American aid is going
through the back door to greedy ministers and the dishonest Sawiris family
because of lawlessness and shameful Egyptian Government corruption.

عزيزتى مدام أولبرايت :
أشكرك على الوقت الذى منحتيه لى لمحادثتك وكما وعدت فهذا هو الحساب المكتوب
لمحاولتنا القيام بالأعمال فى مصر .
كنت فى مهمة فى مصر ممثلاً لواحدة من أكبر شركات التليفون فى أمريكا والتى ترغب
فى المزايدة والمنافسة فى نظام التليفون جى – أس - أم فى مصر ، كان معى الرئيس
التنفيذى للشركة .
ذهبنا إلى الوزارة المعنية ( وزارة المواصلات السلكية واللاسلكية ) للتسجيل
للمنافسة على المشروع وللإفصاح عن رغبتنا فى المشاركة فيه .. وفى مساء نفس
اليوم اتصل شخص لم نكن نعرفه من قبل فى الفندق الذى نقيم فيه – نجيب ساويرس –
ودعانا للعشاء وقبلنا الدعوة وحضر لاصطحابنا وكان يرتدى كرجل أعمال ولكن يبدو
كقواد إيطالى . !!
أخذنا إلى كباريه قذر وقال ملك عائلته واحضر أخيه الصغير وثلاث فتيات روسيات من
فتيات الكباريه وقالوا أنهن هدايا لنا فترة إقامتنا فى مصر وأثناء العشاء
أخبرونا أنه لن تكون هناك عطاءات لمشروع التليفون المحمول وأن العملية مطبوخة
وفى أيديهم وأننا غير متضمنين فى هذا الترتيب وهو وأخوة ناصف السكران كانوا
واثقين جداً من كلامهم فكان ردنا أنه لابد من تقديم العطاء لأن الاتفاق معهم
غير قانونى وضد القانون الأمريكى وطبعاً ضد القانون فى مصر .. قالوا ممكن شركاء
بنسبة بسيطة لكن كل السيطرة حتكون ليهم ..!!
وفى اليوم التالى نجيب كلمنا وعزمنا على العشاء فى كباريه آخر وقال إنه ملكهم
أيضاً وأحضر معه فتاتين مصريتين جميلتين لا يتعدى عمرهن 16 أو 17 سنة وقال
أنهما طالبتين مصريتين من المسلمين لكن محتاجين فلوس وممكن يقضوا الليل معكم فى
غرفكم !! وكان معاه واحد مسئول كبير اسمه طلعت حماد وكان بيضغط علينا جداً وقال
أن هناك 200 مليون جنيه رشوة فى المشروع وحيكون 100 مليون منهم لرئيس الوزراء
كمال الجنزورى و 100 مليون لإبن الرئيس جمال مبارك !! ولم نستمر أكثر من ذلك مع
نجيب أو نصاب الحكومة واعتذرنا عن انتهاك القانون وتركناهم فى أدب .
ذهبنا فى اليوم التالى للوزارة المعنية لتسجيل أنفسنا فى المناقصة وقالوا لنا
تعالوا بكرة ، وعند رجوعنا إلى الفندق وجدنا أن جميع الأوراق الخاصة بمناقصة
التليفون المحمول قد سرقت من الغرفة ، وبعد ساعة اتصل نجيب ساويرس يقترح أن
نتقابل فرفضنا .
طلبنا من مكتبنا فى أمريكا إرسال أوراق أخرى فوراً وبعد يومين وضعنا الأوراق
والمستندات فى الوزارة المختصة وبعد أسبوعين قالوا لم يستلموا أى أوراق أو
مستندات من شركتنا !!
حضر فريق آخر من شركتنا بأوراق ومستندات جديدة ، وكالسحر عرف نجيب ساويرس عنهم
وعرض عليهم بنات وطلبنا منهم عدم مقابلته والحذر من التواطؤ معهم لأن هذا ضد
القانون لكن الوزير طلعت حماد حضر إلى الفندق مصراً على المقابلة ومرة أخرى كان
يضغط بطريقة تهديدية كمسئول حكومى مفوض وأخبر زملائنا صراحة أن الحكومة المصرية
تريد شركتنا أن تتعاون تعاون تام مع نجيب ساويرس ، وأن المشروع مشروع ساويرس
بأمر الرئيس مبارك .
وأخيراً .. عرفنا أن عملية المناقصة كلها مرتبة مسبقاً ، فقد خسر ساويرس
الترخيص صورياً لصالح مجمعة من المزايدين متضمنين مجموعة ألكان ثم بكى واعترض
لكى يكافأ بخصخصة شركة التليفونات الحكومية الأصلية ( أرنتو ) والآن (موبينيل )
وهذه الشركة كانت تستحق بأى حال من الأحوال أكثر مما دفعه ساويرس ومجموعة
الموبيني فيها وكان يجب أن تباع بسعر أعلى بكثير .

ترخيص فقط بل هناك كل المعدات والـ 80000 مشترك . كانت شركتنا ستدفع 664 مليون
دولار (2.271 ) مليار جنيه مصرى أكثر من موبينيل لهذا المشروع القائم بالفعل ،
لقد أعطيت الموبينيل كهدية من رئيس الوزراء الجنزورى من أجل الرشوة . أنه شىء
مفزع أن بلد فقير جداً مثل مصر يسمح لساويرس أن يسرق 2 بليون جنيه فوراً وعدة
بلايين أخرى خلال الأربع سنوات القادمة من الشعب المصرى الفقير .
أننا نثق كل الثقة أن الموبينيل منحت لساويرس عن طريق الفساد والرشوة وضد
القانون المصرى وأن هذه الشركة يجب أن تأخذ من هؤلاء النصابين عديمى الأخلاق
لأن المناقصة لم تكن قانونية أبداً كما يستلزم القانون المصرى .
فى بلد محترم لا بد من طرد ومحاكمة هذا الوزير الغير أمين – طلعت حماد – ولا بد
من إعادة طرح المشروع عالمياً بطريقة شريفة حتى ينال الشعب المصرى والحكومة
المصرية 2 بليون جنيه مكسباً سرقها منهم ساويرس بالإضافة إلى 2 : 3 بليون جنيه
فى الأربع سنوات القادمة ليصبح الإجمالى المسروق من الشعب الفير 4 : 5 بليون
جنيه .
إنى أتوسل إليك مدام أولبرايت أن تعملى على إيقاف جميع المساعدات – التى تجمع
من دافعى الضرائب فى أمريكا – لمصر فوراً فإن المساعدات الأمريكية تذهب من
الأبواب الخلفية إلى الوزراء الجشعين وعائلة ساويرس بسبب الفساد وانعدام
الأخلاق والقانون فى الحكومة المصرية فهناك القانون لا يسرى إلا على الفقراء .

The Plan
Christianity in the USA and Europe controls the world: wealth, technologies,
military, politics and finances, they have the highest income per capita.
The Christian book, the bible, is the same for Christians and Jews. We are
brothers: the Old Testament for Jews, the New Testament for Christians.
Israel has one of the highest per capita incomes in the world today. Why?
Because of Islam and its corrupt leaders! Islam is a backward religion. In
all countries where there is Islam there is poverty, and corruption at the
highest level with dictators of the highest order. Saudi Arabia and the
Princes, the Sheikhs in the Gulf, Egypt's Moubarek President for life, Syria
Assad, Iraq Sadam, Nigeria, Iran - Taliban, Indonesia, Malaysia, Pakistan,
Morocco, Algeria, Libya etc. etc. Not one Muslim country escapes the tyranny
of the leaders of Islam.
Who elected these leaders? Who ever voted for Hosni Moubarek President for
life?
All these countries are going backward, run by dictators who make their
people suffer. The dishonest rulers of Islam use this religion as a drug for
the poor people to submit, so they can steal these countries blind,
including Egypt. The only answer to help the poor 1 billion Muslim people is
to change the belief that is destroying them. Islam and Communism are both
finished.
The concept of a "Greater Israel with the backing of the church" and America
is the only answer to the Arab world in order to get all these dictators
out. Israel with Arab oil resources and cheap Arab labour, with Israeli and
American capital and technology will make the entire area bloom. So all
these poor Arab people will prosper and will have a better life, higher
income, better health, better education and more technology.
To get these thieves and their sons and relatives out of this area - and
create a kind of very controlled, mild and modern Islam. In the long run,
with the Greater Israel concept, we will water down this very backward
fanatic religion which has been drugging the population of this area for
1400 years.

The Egyptian Strategy:
1.) The Government. The politicians who control the Government are
dishonest and corruption always starts at the top, hence, we are currently
in good control.
2.) There are 15 groups which control the Egyptian economy. Today we are by
far the largest and the other groups just follow us like sheep.
3.) The banks. Out of the major 8 banks, it is just how much you pay to get
whatever loan you want. This has been fruitful and will continue to be
excellent for us.
4.) The economy. It is in good shape and our brothers' plan is to:
a.) Encourage as many Government privatisations to the Stock Market as is
possible in order to secure the assets in our hands.
b.) Borrow as much as humanly possible from the banks using minimum
guarantees.
c.) Collect all the money we can from the Stock Market in order to suck all
the savings and liquidity from the market. This is easily achieved by
selling shares of our companies to the public.
d.) Use very little of our own capital: Banks will eventually become short
of money due to their deposits being loaned out. All the public savings are
either locked up in banks or in the Stock Market, so there will be no
liquidity in Egypt. We are confident that this will produce a crash in Egypt
bigger than the crash in Asia.
e.) Then we will buy the best companies in Egypt at 5% of their value, so we
will control the economy through owning the best businesses in Egypt.
f.) Finally, for consolidating our control over the economy, we can bring in
more capital from our friends in the north. And the complete job is done.
5.) Our next urgent step is to control the Egyptian press and the media. We
have started with records, cinemas, clubs, advertising, radio, cable TV, the
Internet and working on controlling the telephone networks. Also we are
financing magazines, newspapers, and feeding and controlling the most
important writers. To control the press in Egypt is paramount to our cause,
like the Jews' control of the press world-wide. We have already cut the
tongues of all who have opposed us and the Egyptian press does not dare to
print our names.
6.) It is also paramount for our goal to control the Egyptian banks. Get the
big banks out of the Government's hands and privatised. Our and our friends'
capitals are available to buy them, and the entire bank privitisations
decision-makers are under our control. We don't care how much money these
banks make in profits; we just want to take the people's deposits in our
hands. "Yes deposits", these deposits are free cash for us to buy whatever
is left in Egypt. And we will convert most of these deposits into hard
currency overseas in order to dry up liquidity in the market.
7.) When these banks are empty of cash, they will collapse along with the
Egyptian pound and the entire economy will be our hostage and in our hands.
The Government will be very weak and will never be strong enough to take
away our assets. Then our partners and we will dictate the terms to the
Government, both financially and politically.
Today, capitals control the world not guns. In Egypt we plan to be in every
business sector in the economy. Jews control America through their capital,
we will do exactly the same in Egypt. "The Christian and the Copt capital
control".
We presently possess big assets and have infiltrated most if not all the
sectors of the Egyptian economy.
Money talks and in Egypt we promise the power to Christianity and the Copts
in Egypt through owning as many sectors of the economy as humanly possible
and through controlling the banks and the media. The entire Government will
be just a front as our paid employees and the suffering of our People, "the
Copts" for the past 1400 years will end.
When Egypt goes down, the entire Middle East will crumble with it according
to our and our friends' precise plan. Syria and Lebanon are under Israeli
feet; Libya and Iran are paralysed by boycott; Iraq is devastated by
America, and Saudi Arabia, Kuwait and the Gulf States are occupied and
dictated to by America. The Church and we will take care of Egypt.

الخطة
إن المسيحية التى يعتنقها العالم الغربى فى أمريكا وأوروبا جعلته يسيطر على
العالم وعلى الثروة وعلى التكنولوجيا كما جعلت للفرد هناك أعلى دخل فى العالم
فهى دين التقدم والتمدن كما أن الإنجيل – كتاب العالم المسيحى – إنما هو كتاب
واحد للمسيحيين واليهود فهم أخوة فى الدين فقد كان العهد القديم لليهود والعهد
الجديد للمسيحيين .
إن إسرائيل واحدة من البلاد صاحبة أعلى مستوى دخل فى العالم .. لماذا ؟ أما
الإسلام فدين التخلف والرجعية والإرهاب فى العالم كله ففى جميع البلاد التى
تعتنق الإسلام تعانى الشعوب من الفقر والجهل والمرض بسبب قهر الحكم والحكام
الديكتاتوريين المسلمين.. ففى السعودية وخليج الشيوخ ومصر ( مبارك رئيساً مدى
الحياة ) وسوريا ( الأسد ) والعراق ( صدام ) وإيران وأفغانستان وإندونيسيا
وماليزيا وباكستان والمغرب والجزائر وليبيا وغيرهم لا يوجد بلد إسلامى واحد
استطاع التخلص من الحكام المسلمين . من أنتخب هؤلاء الحكام ؟ ومن انتخب حسنى
مبارك رئيساً مدى الحياة ؟
كل هذه البلاد تتخلف والشعوب تعانى بسبب ديكتاتورية الحكام . إن الحكام
المسلمين الفاسدين يستخدمون الدين كأفيون للشعوب الفقيرة حتى يخضعوا لهم ولم
يستطيعون بذلك سرقة بلادهم سراً مثلما يحدث فى مصر . الحل الوحيد لمساعدة
البليون مسلم المقهورين هو تغيير المعتقدات التى حطمتهم . إن الإسلام والشيوعية
قد انتهت للأبد .
إن فكرة إسرائيل الكبرى بمساندة الكنيسة مع أمريكا هى الإجابة والحل لخلاص
العالم العربى من التخلف والديكتاتورية . فإسرائيل مع منابع البترول العربية
الغنية والعمالة العربية الرخيصة ورؤوس الأموال الإسرائيلية والأمريكية ستخلق
مجتمعاً جديداً مزدهراً ينعم فيه الشعب المسلم بحياة أفضل ودخل أكبر وتعليم على
أرقى مستوى وتكنولوجيا متقدمة جداً كما سينعم الشعب بالأهم وهى الحرية .
نعم الحل هو التخلص من الحكام اللصوص وأبنائهم وأقاربهم بطردهم خارج المنطقة
كلها وكان العمل على خلق إسلام جديد معتدل ومسيطر عليه يقبل فكرة إسرائيل
العظمى حتى تتغلغل فيه على المدى الطويل وتنهى الدين المتخلف المتعصب الذى عانت
منه المنطقة لمدة 1400 سنة .
الاستراتيجية المصرية
1) الحكومة جميع السياسيين الذين يديرون الحكومة غير شرفاء والفساد يأتى دائما
من القمة لذلك فنحن نتحكم فيهم جيدا
2) هناك 15 مجموعة تتحكم فى الاقتصاد ونحن اليوم اكبر مجموعة على الإطلاق
والمجموعات الأخرى تتبعنا كالأغنام
3) البنوك فى جميع الثمانية بنوك الكبرى بلا استثناء بقدر الرشوة يكون حجم
القرض وهذا ممتاز ومطلوب جدا لأهدافنا .
4) الاقتصاد يبدو فى صورة طيبة وحطة إخواننا هى :
 تشجيع الحكومة على اكبر قدر من الخصخصة لسوق المال حتى نضمن الأصول فى
أيدينا.
 الاقتراض بأقصى واكبر قدر من البنوك باستخدام اقل الضمانات .
 العمل على جمع الأموال من الأسواق وهذا سهل التحقيق ببيع بعض الحصص من
شركاتنا للشعب.
 استخدام اقل القليل من راس مالنا وبالتالى سيصبح لدى البنوك عجز فى
الأموال لان الودائع استخدمت فى القروض الكثيرة وكل مدخرات الشعب أما محجوزة فى
البنوك أو فى البورصة وبذلك لن تكون هناك أى سيولة نقدية فى مصر اكبر مما حدث
فى آسيا .
 وعندئذ سنشترى احسن الشركات فى مصر بحوالى 5 % فقط من قيمتها
وسنتحكم فى الاقتصاد عن طريق امتلاك احسن الأعمال والمشاريع فى مصر.
 وأخيرا لإحكام السيطرة التامة على الاقتصاد نستطيع استخدام المزيد من
رؤوس الأموال من أصدقائنا فى الشمال لإتمام المهمة .
5) الأمر العاجل والهام الآن هو السيطرة على الصحافة المصرية والإعلام وقد
بدأنا بالفعل بالتسجيلات والسينما والنوادى الليلية والدعاية والراديو وقنوات
تليفزيونية خاصة والإنترنت ونعمل على التحكم فى التليفونات وأيضا نمول المجلات
والكتاب المهيمن فى الصحافة حتى تكون لنا السيطرة كما يسيطر اليهود على الإعلام
فى العالم وقد قطعنا فعلا السنة المعارضين لنا والصحافة المصرية لاتجرا على ذكر
أسمائنا بأى سوء.
6) أن البنوك المصرية قطاع هام جدا لتحقيق أهدافنا فخروج البنوك الكبرى من

International: Egyptian police ‘crucify’ and rape Christians Thousands of
Copts in Egypt have been nailed to the doors of their homes, beaten and
tortured as authorities crack down on non-Muslims.

EGYPTIAN Christians have been subjected to horrific crucifixion rituals,
raped and tortured by the security forces during a crackdown on the ancient
Coptic community, according to international human rights and Christian
groups.
Hundreds of Copts have been rounded up in southern Egypt after suspected
retaliatory killings involving local Muslims and Christians. Apart from the
crucifixions, teenage girls have been raped and babies as young as three
months savagely beaten.
Most Copts are too frightened to speak about their plight. But the local
bishop and two priests are now facing the death penalty for bringing the
persecution to the attention of the world. To the embarrassment of President
Hosni Mubarak. whose government is attempting to win back tourists after
last year's Luxor massacre by Islamic militants, 29 American Congressman
have now written to him to demand an end to the torture.
The Egyptian embassy in London refused to comment last week. However, over
the past month, police have reportedly detained about 1,200 Christians in
Al-Kosheh, near Luxor in Upper Egypt. Seized in groups of 50 at a time, many
were nailed to crosses or manacled to doors with their legs tied together,
then beaten and tortured with electric shocks to their genitals, while
police denounced them as "infidels".
An 11-year-old boy, Romani Boctor, was hung upside down from an electric
ceiling fan and tortured as the fan rotated. Young girls were raped and
mothers were forced to lay their babies on the floor of police stations and
watch police beat them with sticks.
Bishop Anba Wissa, the local head of the Coptic Church, said: "It was
horrific - entire families were severely beaten and tortured, and some of
the children will be scarred for life. When I protested to the regional
police chief, he said 'you haven't seen anything yet'."
The bishop and two priests were detained last week by police and charged on
five counts including "using religion for the purpose of inciting strife and
damaging national unity", charges punishable by death or life imprisonment.
The Al-Kosheh crackdown followed the murders of two Christians, allegedly by
Muslims seeking revenge for the poisoning of one of their brothers, although
doctors had recorded his death as due to natural causes. Rather than
investigate. Bishop Wissa said, police simply rounded up Christians,
apparently to avoid a clash between religious communities in the town which
has 35,000 Christians and 15,000 Muslims.
Although Coptic Christians make up six per cent of the population of Egypt
and their numbers include the former United Nations Secretary General,
Boutros Boutros Ghali, the government refuses to recognise them as an
official minority and they have suffered persecution for years from Islamic
extremists.
This latest incident is the first time that the police have been the
perpetrators and the Coptic community fears it may be the sign of worse to
come. It follows the closure in July of a Coptic church in the Maadi suburb
of Cairo, which was surrounded by seven armoured vehicles as its doors and
windows were sealed by security forces.
Although President Mubarak portrays himself as a moderate, human rights
activists believe that the police action reflects a wider infiltration of
Islamic extremists into senior official positions. "This is not an isolated
incident," said Joseph Assad, a project co-ordinator with Freedom House, the
Washington-based centre for religious liberties founded by Eleanor
Roosevelt. "I fear Egypt is turning by stealth into an Islamic state".
"There is this image of Egypt as a secular country which is fighting
fundamentalism," said Simon Qadri, of Christian Solidarity, a human rights
agency, "but it is not true at all. Islamic law is the basis of the
constitution and there is no freedom of religion. If anything, Mubarak tries
to appease the fundamentalists."
Copts were the ancient inhabitants of Egypt before the Arab invasions ,in
the seventh century, but have been surrounded for centuries by a hostile
Muslim majority. They now need presidential permission to open a church,
their history cannot be taught in schools and people can be arrested under
the National Security Act for converting to their faith.
Mustafa Shukravi, a human rights activist who converted to Christianity and
was jailed for 10 months, was granted asylum in England last month. He
recalled: "I was beaten with sticks and electric shocks. I was hung,
blindfolded, made to stand for five days and five nights."
Despite the outcry over the Al Kosheh attack, the Mubarak government has
refused to take action. A letter of protest from Freedom House to the
Egyptian ambassador in Washington elicited the reply that only 25-40
Christians were arrested, adding: "Bishop Wissa is known for his extreme
religious views and stirring sectarianism."
Last week the United States Senate approved the Freedom from Religious
Persecution Act under which President Clinton is obliged to take some form
of action against all countries cited by the State Department as not
allowing religious liberty. Egypt is prominent on this list.
The State Department is sending officials to Cairo to meet Bishop Wissa next
week. The bishop has medical reports on many of those detained, some of whom
will be permanently disfigured, on addition to photographs of their injuries
and hopes that these may be used to lobby for a boycott on tourism or other
form of sanctions.
But the Clinton administration sees Mr Mubarak as a key player in peace
negotiations between Israel and the Palestinians and seems unlikely to risk
upsetting him by reducing its pounds 1.3 billion aid package.

واثنان من القساوسة يواجهون الآن عقوبة الإعدام لأنهم أطلعوا العالم عما يحدث
من اضطهاد ولإحراج الرئيس مبارك – الذى تحاول حكومته أن تسترجع السياحة مرة
أخرى بعد مذبحة الأقصر فى السنة الماضية على أيدى المسلحين الإسلاميين – قام 29
من أعضاء الكونجرس الأمريكى بالكتابة له مطالبين بنهاية هذا التعذيب .
السفارة المصرية فى لندن ترفض التعليق الأسبوع الماضى بالرغم من أنه فى خلال
الشهر الماضى قام البوليس المصرى باعتقال 1200 مسيحى فى الكشح بالقرب من الأقصر
فى صعيد مصر سجنوا فى مجموعات من 50 فرد ، الكثير دقت المسامير فيهم للصلب أو
كلبوا فى الأبواب مقيدين الأرجل وضربوا وعذبوا بوحشية بالصدمات الكهربية على
أعضائهم التناسلية فى حين كانوا ينادونهم بالكفرة .
صبى عمره 11 سنة "رومانى بكتور" يربط ورأسه لأسفل فى مروحة كهربائية ليدور معاه
وفتاة صغيرة اغتصبت وأمهات أجبرن على وضع أطفالهم على الأرض فى أقسام البوليس
ليعذبوا ويضربوا بالعصى أمام أعينهم .
الأسقف أنبا ويصا الرئيس المحلى للكنيسة القبطية يقول : لقد كان شىء مرعب كل
العائلات تضرب وتعذب بقسوة فظيعة ، أن بعض الأطفال سيظلوا مرعوبين طوال حياتهم
من هول ما حدث وعندما اعترضت لرئيس البوليس كان رده لى : أنك لم ترى شىء بعد
..!!
الأسقف واثنين من القساوسة يقبض عليهم الأسبوع الماضى بالبوليس ويتهموا بخمس
تهم منها استعمال الين للتحريض على الشغب وتحطيم الوحدة الوطنية وعقوبتهم
الإعدام أو السجن مدى الحياة .
أحداث الكشح المأساوية أعقبت مقتل اثنين من المسيحيين انتقاماً من المسلمين
لأخيهم الذى مات مسموماً كما يدعون بالرغم من أن تقرير الطبيب الشرعى أكد أن
الوفاة لأسباب طبيعية ، وبجانب التحقيقات التى جرت حاصر البوليس المسيحيين لمنع
الصدام بين الطوائف الدينية فى مدينة بها 35 ألف مسيحى و 15 ألف مسلم .
بالرغم من أن المسيحيين الأقباط يمثلون ستة بالمائة من سكان فى مصر ومن بينهم
سكرتير عام الأمم المتحدة السابق إلا أن الحكومة ترفض الاعتراف بهم رسمياً
كأقلية ويعانون من القهر والاضطهاد لسنوات من المتطرفين المسلمين .
إن الأحداث الأخيرة تمثل سابقة تحدث لأول مرة حيث أن البوليس هو المعتدى
والمجتمع القبطى يخشى أن تكون هذه علامة على أحداث سيئة قادمة فقد سبق هذا
إغلاق كنيسة قبطية فى المعادى بالقاهرة فى يولية بعد أن أحيطت بسبع عربات محملة
بالجنود وقامت قوات الأمن بتشميع الأبواب والشبابيك .
مع أن الرئيس مبارك يصور نفسه على أنه معتدل ويؤمن بحقوق الإنسان إلا أن
تجاوزات البوليس أثبتت اختراق المتطرفين الإسلاميين للمناصب الرسمية العليا ،
فجوزيف أسعد ( من مكتب حرية الأديان ) يقول أن هذا ليس عملاً فردياً وأنه يخشى
أن تتحول مصر إلى جمهورية إسلامية أخرى . ويقول سيمون قدرى ( من منظمة حقوق
الإنسان ) : هناك تصور أن مصر تحارب الأصولية والتطرف وهذا غير صحيح بالمرة
فالقانون الإسلامى أساس الحكم ولا توجد هناك حرية فى الأديان ومبارك يحاول أن
يظهر كرافض للأصولية والتطرف .
إن الأقباط هم السكان الأصليين فى مصر قبل الغزو العربى فى القرن السابع ولكنهم
حوصروا بالغالبية المسلمة العدائية لعدة قرون وهم يحتاجون الآن إلى تصريح من
الرئيس لإقامة كنيسة ولا يستطيعون تدريس تاريخهم فى المدارس والناس يقبض عليهم
تحت قانون الأمن العام لتغيرهم دينهم .
قال مصطفى شكرى ( عضو منظمة حقوق الإنسان ) والذى تحول إلى الدين المسيحى وسجن
لمدة عشرة أشهر : ضربت بالعصى وعذبت بالصدمات الكهربية وكنت أعلق مغمض العينين
وجعلونى أقف خمسة أيام وخمسة ليالى متصلة .
بالرغم مما حدث فى الكشح فحكومة مبارك ترفض أن تأخذ أى موقف إيجابى .. وفى رد
السفير المصرى فى واشنطن علفى خطابات الاعتراض والاستنكار من مكتب الحرية ذكر
أن المقبوض عليهم 25 : 40 فقط وأن الأسقف ويصا معروف بوجهة نظره المتطرفة فى
الدين .
صدق الأسبوع الماضى مجلس النواب الأمريكى على قانون بمعاقبة البلاد التى تضطهد
الأديان وبهذا القانون فإن كلينتون مجبر على أخذ رد فعل ضد البلاد التى تحدد
أنها لا تسمح بحرية الأديان ومصر واحدة منها . ستقوم الإدارة الأمريكية الأسبوع
القادم بإرسال مسئولين للقاهرة لمقابلة الأسقف ويصا الذى لديه تقارير طبية
للعديد من المعذبين والذين أصيب بعضهم بعاهات مستديمة بالإضافة لصور لجروحهم
ويأمل أن تستخدم فى حملة ضد السياحة لمصر أو فى شكل آخر من أشكال العقاب .
تعتقد إدارة كلينتون أن مبارك عامل أساسى فى عملية مفاوضات السلام بين إسرائيل
وفلسطين ولذلك لا يريدون إحباطه بخفض المعونة الأمريكية لمصر .

THE LUXOR MASSACRE:
NOT THE PROBLEM, JUST A SYMPTOMO

Mr. President:
One year ago, on February 12, 1997. Muslim extremists murdered 10 young
Egyptian Christians (Copts), while they were praying in St. George's church
in Abu Qurqas, Egypt. Nine months later, on November 17, 1997. violence in
Egypt gave birth to another horrible massacre when a band of the same
terrorist group, using some of the same weapons, savagely killed 58 tourists
in Egypt's Valley of the Queens in Luxor.
The Abu Qurqas massacre attracted very little attention from you or from
your Egyptian Government. On the other hand, the Luxor massacre shocked
Egypt, alarmed by rhe prospect of loosing over 2 billion dollars in revenues
from tourism. The Luxor massacre also shocked the world taking place in a
country that many in the West deem to be "safe" from this kind of fanatic
barbarism.
Not too long ago. Egypt had been a tolerant nation, where Muslims,
Christians, Jews as well as Greeks and Italians lived together peacefully.
But Luxor shouldn't have been such a surprise, Mr. President.
For more than two decades, these same murderers have been killing Egyptian
Christians (the Copts) in their own country: attacking them in their fields,
shops and clinics, burning their properties and executing worshippers in
cold blood inside their churches. All these atrocities have been going on
while your government was fuming a blind eye, considering your Christian
subjects as dispensable second class citizens.
In the past five years Muslim fanatics have killed 106 Christians in Egypt
with, not more than one or two of the killers being arrested, tried and
convicted.
In the past two decades 711 of Egypt's Coptic Christians (members of a
cultured, proud minority who have lived in Egypt for centuries, well before
the dawn of Islam ) have been wounded in attacks. According to the National
Unity Center of Human Rights in Cairo, 561 properties and businesses of
Christians were targets of attacks by Muslims;
117 churches were burned or ransacked, and 56 homes destroyed.
Mr. President, this persecution has been happening under your watch.
It has aroused little outcry in Egypt because your government never
condemned such acts. Indeed, your government enshrines the abrogation of
basic human and religious rights of Christians as part of its policy.
Mr. President, the over 10 million Christian citizens of Egypt don't have
the right to build or repair churches. They are denied top positions in your
government, your army, your police, and Egypt's universities, simply because
of their faith. They have no elected representatives in your parliament. And
when victimized, their attackers are let off by the courts with little or no
punishment. The government has set up a parallel Islamic education system
from which Egyptian Christians are banned.
Members of the Muslim religious establishment in the employ of your
government spread anti-Christian propaganda in broadcasts over government
owned radio and television.
Mr. President: how can you expect to keep further massacres, like Luxor,
from happening when you give fanatics the green light to persecute a segment
of your own people? How long do you think it will be before extremists call
for the murder of all non-Muslims; and then of "bad Muslims" and, then, of
everyone except themselves? Extremism, Mr. President, has no limits, just
look at Afghanistan and Algeria.
Mr. President the lesson of Luxor is this: If you legitimize assault against
one segment of your people, you legitimize it against all.
Your silence makes you an accomplice to these crimes.
WE APPEAL TO YOU, Mr. President, to denounce and put an end to these
practices and to pull up violence by its roots in the Egyptian media and
educational system. Egyptian Christians should not be treated as second
class citizens or as "cheap prey" to feed fanatics. Let Egyptian Christians
practice their faith and have their rights as full citizens of the country.
Egypt has always thrived when it was a tolerant and open society for all.

DESCENDANTS OF THE PHARAOHS HAVE NO PLACE IN MODERN EGYPT!

Mr. President:
The world has been hearing your voice, loud and clear, defending the rights
of the Palestinians, the Bosnian Muslims, and, recently, the Iraqis.
Ironically, Mr. President, there are over 10 million Christians (the Copts),
citizens of your country, who live within your borders, to whom you have
denied the very basics of recognized human rights.
Egypt's Christians (the Copts) are often ignored by your government. Copts
are not allowed to build or repair a church without a presidential decree,
and without meeting several rigid restrictions. No chancellor or dean of any
of Egypt's 15 universities and 150 higher institutes is a Copt, nor is any
of the appointed 26 governors and vice-governors or city mayors. There are
no Copts among senior army or police officers, or major ambassadors. Coptic
girls (including the under-age) are regularly kidnapped, raped and forced
into Islam by Muslim fundamentalists, with the collaboration of your
security forces.
Coptic history, language and culture are a neglected, if not a forbidden
domain in its own country. Copts have no elected representatives in your
parliament. Copts in Upper Egypt are being forced by Muslim fundamentalists
to pay "jizya", Mafia-style protection money. If they don't pay they are
killed by the extremists, and if they do pay they risk going to prison by
your government for supporting terrorism. Copts, by the thousands, are
leaving their small towns, seeking refuge in big cities or, emigrating from
Egypt altogether, thus fulfilling the extremists' plans of ethnic cleansing
and of creating a pure Islamic society in Egypt.
Copts, Mr. President, are experiencing, under your presidency, the worst
hardships in their modem history. Yet, astonishingly, you repeatedly denied
the existence of all the above factual persecution.
In an interview published in Al-Ahram, Egypt's semi-official newspaper, on
August 15,
1997. you declared that you saw no problems in regards to the Copts. You
stressed the same notion in your speech to university students and
professors, on February 17,
1998. The facts, Mr. President, are that Coptic complaints are not a product
of their imagination; these are laws and practices affecting millions of
real people, documented by credible and neutral sources such as the U.S.
State Dept., Jubilee Campaign, Voice of the Martyrs, Open Doors
International, Christian Solidarity International, and Egyptian
organizations for human rights.
Mr. President:
By denying the above glaring evidence of persecution, and continuing your
blatant discrimination against the peaceful Copts, and resisting finding a
solution, these problems will become worse, until it will be too late for a
peaceful co-existence between Muslims and Christians within Egypt.
Human rights groups, foreign leaders, members of the U.S. Congress and
moderate Muslims in Egypt have urged you to end the official discrimination
against the Copts, but all in vain!
Mr. President: All that Copts are seeking is equality with Muslims; is this
too much to ask for? Can Christian Copts, descendant of the Pharaohs, have a
place in the lands of their forefathers?

The latest episode of the abuse suffered by Egypt's Coptic Christian
community "began inconspicuously," in the words of Associated Press reporter
Anthony Shadid, who wrote Oct. 31 from the sire of the event, El-Kosheh
village in Upper Egypt. "Two young Christians killed in a poor region of
Egypt known for its vendettas and guns." the AP report continued.
"The police crackdown that followed in the mostly Christian farming town
wasn't commonplace, however. Villagers, human-rights groups and church
officials say hundreds were arrested in a month-long campaign of terror that
included torture, threats of rape, hostage-taking and even bribes to
officers for lenient treatment."
The Copts are again crying for help. This time, however, their voice is
stronger than it used to be. Coptic emigres all over the world are getting
more organized not only to protest against armed groups' attacks on their
compatriots, but also to lobby host countries to persuade the Egyptian
government to respect the rights of the Copts as Egyptian citizens.
Extensive analyses show that attacks by violent Islamic groups on Copts,
their property and their churches since the early 1990s are not random
occurrences, as Egyptian officials always claim.
How can anyone honestly deny that Copts are targeted because of their
religion, when sectors of villages or suburbs of cities that are largely or
entirely inhabited by Copts are attacked and systematically terrorized?
Attacks on Copts in Egypt started before Islamic militants began to target
Egyptian officials and foreign tourists in the 1990s. This fact, too, is
indicative of the sectarian nature of what violent militants consider a holy
war to be waged by them against the "religious other."
In its May 1992 report on the massacre of 15 Copts in the city of Dairout,
in Upper Egypt, the Cairo-based Egyptian Organization for Human Rights
detailed the "systematic" reign of terror that was forced on the city's
Copts by the Islamic Group for a number of years. The EOHR said: "It is
worthy of note that the statements issued by the
Ministry- of the Interior at the time insisted on portraying the matter as
being in the nature of an inter-family dispute, deliberately cloaking any
sectarian aspect to it."
Other reports and studies attribute violence against Copts to discriminatory
practices applied by the government and public authorities. In a statement
in February 1997, following a massacre of 10 Coptic youths inside a church
in Upper Egypt, the Arab Organization for Human Rights demanded the Egyptian
government take "a firm stand against some discriminatory practices that
face Egyptian Copts."
Official discriminatory practices and forms of religious intolerance
encourage attacks on' Copts. The latest act of persecution directed against
Copts, which was committed by members of the Egyptian police itself, is a
case in point.
In its report on this event, the Egyptian Organization for Human Rights said
the police authorities explained the mass arrests as pre-emptive "in order
to avoid unrest between the Muslim and Christian populations."
Christian religious leaders, human-rights workers and residents of the
village believe that the two men were killed by five Muslim men and that the
police have run roughshod over the Christian community ro frame a Christian
suspect.
Copts inside and outside Egypt saw in this incident more stark evidence of
the persecution directed against them. and a fuming point in the scheme,
which, some believe, is connived by different players, including the
Egyptian government. For while such acts have gone on for many years, the
government has been categorically denying the existence of any
discrimination or persecution against this beleaguered minority.
It is intriguing to hear Hosni Mubarak. the president of Egypt, assert that
the "terrorism" plaguing Egypt is an international phenomenon, and therefore
needs to be dealt with on a global level. I think he is absolutely right on
this. It is regrettable, however, that he seems to miss the connections
among "terrorism." abuse of human rights and the rule of a police siate. an
unholy triad that also ought to be confronted globally.
In a fall-page message published in the New York Times on Oct. 20. Coptic
activist groups in the West reiterated that "it is in Egypt's national
interest that democracy and human rights reign within its borders. And this
cannot be achieved without the full recognition and guarantee of the right
of the Copts in Egypt."
The failure to protect minority communities frustrates the universal ideals
of peace, coexistence and democracy.
Canada and other western democracies have important roles to play. not only
in combating terrorism, but in implementing UN human-rights principles and
laws in a more vigorous way to help spread peaceful co-existence between all
peoples of this troubled region.

RE: The 'Mobi Nil Swindle

Dear Mrs. Albright,

Thank you for the time you gave me for our conversation. As promised, I am
sending the 'written account of our attempt at doing Business in Egypt.
I was assigned to a project in Egypt on Behalf of one of the biggest
telecommunication companies in America. Interested in Bidding and competing
for a GSM phone system in Egypt, I arrived in Cairo with the CEO of the
Telecommunication Company.
We went to the proper ministry to register for this competitive bid and to
reveal our interest. A. man called us that same evening at our hotel, then
unknown to us, Naguib Sawiris. He invited us to dinner, which we accepted
and so he came to pick us up. When we met him, he was in Business dress but
looked like an Italian pimp.
He took us to a sleazy cabaret he told us his f amily owns. He then brought
his young brother and three Russian cabaret girls and we were told that the
girls could be a gift during our stay in Egypt.
During the dinner, he and his Brother told us that there would be no tender
for the cellular company. That this bid was cooked and that it was in the
Sawiris' control that we were or not included in this acquisition.
Both Naguib Sawiris and his Brother Nassef who was half drunk were very
pushy and sure of themselves. We told them that we must tender and that it
is illegal to agree with them. That this is against the law in the VS and
certainly so in Egypt etc. They said that we could perhaps Be their small
partners But that they would Be in total control.
The following day Naguib Sawiris called us: dinner again in another shady
cabaret nightclub which he also said he was the owner of. That night he
Brought with him two Beautiful Egyptian girls whose age could not have
exceeded 16 or 17 years old. He said they were hot Moslem Egyptian students
who need the money, and again mentioned that they could be our bed lady
gifts.
During the course of that evening Naguib Sawiris had the company of an
Egyptian government official who introduced himself as Minister Talaat
Hammad. The minister was very pushy and told us that there was a £200
million Egyptian pounds bribe fee of which Kamel el Ganzouri, the Prime
Minister, would get £100 million and one of the President's sons (Gamal)
would get the other £100 milion Balance.
We did not go any further with Naguib Sawiris or this Government hoodlum. We
apologized for not violating laws; we were polite and left.
The next day we returned to the proper ministry to register our interest to
compete, but were told to come back the next day. As we arrived at the
hotel, "we found that all our documents regarding the competition for the
cellular telephone company had been stolen from our rooms. An hour later
Naguib Sawiris called to suggest we meet with him again: we said no.
We asked our American office to immediately send another two sets of
documents. Two days later we deposited our interest with the proper ministry
and left a complete set of documents etc. etc. Two weeks later we followed
up with the ministry and were told that: the ministry has never received any
documents from our company.
Another team from the VS was sent with new documents, but our team was given
the run around at the ministry. And again, like magic, Naguib Sawiris knew
who our people were in Cairo and offered them dinners and fun girls. The
team was told not to see him and to beware of collusion with these people.
But the Minister, Mr. Talaat Hammad, came to the hotel lobby demanding a
meeting with our team and was again very pushy. He acted like a government
official with authority and in a very threatening manner. He plainly told
our people that the Egyptian Government wants our company to fully
co-operate with Nagmb Sawms and that this project is a Sawzns project by
order of Preszdent :Mou6arak.
Finally, now we hear that this whole tender was arranged. The Sawiris
artificially lost a license tender to a group of bidders that included the
Alkan Group. Then the Sawiris cried and protested in order to be awarded the
privitization of the original Government public telephone company: Arento
now MobiNiL This company was by far worth a lot more than the Sawiris and
the 'MobiNil Group paid for it and should have been sold at a higher price
(please see following table).

Who did the mathematics of the. Arento privatization? Let us not forget that
Arento not only had a license but all the equipment and80 '000 established
subscribers too. Our company would have paid VS$ 664 million (EGP 2:271
billion) more than MobiNil for this ongoing business with immediate cash
flow.
MobiNil was just given for a bribe as a gift by the Prime Minister, Mr. el
Ganzouri furthermore, it is appalling that in a country as very poor as
Egypt the Sawiris' have been allowed to rob at last 2 billion pounds
immediately. And over the next 4 years it will be several billion pounds
more stolen from the poor Egyptian people.
We honestly feel that the Mobinil cellular phone company was given to the
Sawiris in a very corrupt manner. Also, this company should be fallen away
from these amoral Sawiris bandits because the transaction was not a legal
tender, as it is stipulated by the Egyptian law (i.e. to have a full legal
competitive tender).
In a descent country this dishonest Minister (Talaat Hammad) would be fired
and prosecuted, and this project would be re-tendered internationally and
honestly. The Egyptian Government and people should gain the two billion
pounds that the Sawirs' stole from them, now. Plus there will be 2 to 3
billion Egyptian pounds in addition by the year 2001. A total of 4 to 5
billion Egyptian pounds stolen from the poor people.
I appeal to you Mrs. Albright and ask you to initiate that all aid to Egypt
from the American taxpayers be stopped immediately. American aid is going
through the back door to greedy ministers and the dishonest Sawiris family
because of lawlessness and shameful Egyptian Government corruption.

أشكرك على الوقت الذى منحتيه لى لمحادثتك وكما وعدت فهذا هو الحساب المكتوب
لمحاولتنا القيام بالأعمال فى مصر .
كنت فى مهمة فى مصر ممثلاً لواحدة من أكبر شركات التليفون فى أمريكا والتى ترغب
فى المزايدة والمنافسة فى نظام التليفون جى – أس - أم فى مصر ، كان معى الرئيس
التنفيذى للشركة .
ذهبنا إلى الوزارة المعنية ( وزارة المواصلات السلكية واللاسلكية ) للتسجيل
للمنافسة على المشروع وللإفصاح عن رغبتنا فى المشاركة فيه .. وفى مساء نفس
اليوم اتصل شخص لم نكن نعرفه من قبل فى الفندق الذى نقيم فيه – نجيب ساويرس –
ودعانا للعشاء وقبلنا الدعوة وحضر لاصطحابنا وكان يرتدى كرجل أعمال ولكن يبدو
كقواد إيطالى . !!
أخذنا إلى كباريه قذر وقال ملك عائلته واحضر أخيه الصغير وثلاث فتيات روسيات من
فتيات الكباريه وقالوا أنهن هدايا لنا فترة إقامتنا فى مصر وأثناء العشاء
أخبرونا أنه لن تكون هناك عطاءات لمشروع التليفون المحمول وأن العملية مطبوخة
وفى أيديهم وأننا غير متضمنين فى هذا الترتيب وهو وأخوة ناصف السكران كانوا
واثقين جداً من كلامهم فكان ردنا أنه لابد من تقديم العطاء لأن الاتفاق معهم
غير قانونى وضد القانون الأمريكى وطبعاً ضد القانون فى مصر .. قالوا ممكن شركاء
بنسبة بسيطة لكن كل السيطرة حتكون ليهم ..!!
وفى اليوم التالى نجيب كلمنا وعزمنا على العشاء فى كباريه آخر وقال إنه ملكهم
أيضاً وأحضر معه فتاتين مصريتين جميلتين لا يتعدى عمرهن 16 أو 17 سنة وقال
أنهما طالبتين مصريتين من المسلمين لكن محتاجين فلوس وممكن يقضوا الليل معكم فى
غرفكم !! وكان معاه واحد مسئول كبير اسمه طلعت حماد وكان بيضغط علينا جداً وقال
أن هناك 200 مليون جنيه رشوة فى المشروع وحيكون 100 مليون منهم لرئيس الوزراء
كمال الجنزورى و 100 مليون لإبن الرئيس جمال مبارك !! ولم نستمر أكثر من ذلك مع
نجيب أو نصاب الحكومة واعتذرنا عن انتهاك القانون وتركناهم فى أدب .
ذهبنا فى اليوم التالى للوزارة المعنية لتسجيل أنفسنا فى المناقصة وقالوا لنا
تعالوا بكرة ، وعند رجوعنا إلى الفندق وجدنا أن جميع الأوراق الخاصة بمناقصة
التليفون المحمول قد سرقت من الغرفة ، وبعد ساعة اتصل نجيب ساويرس يقترح أن
نتقابل فرفضنا .
طلبنا من مكتبنا فى أمريكا إرسال أوراق أخرى فوراً وبعد يومين وضعنا الأوراق
والمستندات فى الوزارة المختصة وبعد أسبوعين قالوا لم يستلموا أى أوراق أو
مستندات من شركتنا !!
حضر فريق آخر من شركتنا بأوراق ومستندات جديدة ، وكالسحر عرف نجيب ساويرس عنهم
وعرض عليهم بنات وطلبنا منهم عدم مقابلته والحذر من التواطؤ معهم لأن هذا ضد
القانون لكن الوزير طلعت حماد حضر إلى الفندق مصراً على المقابلة ومرة أخرى كان
يضغط بطريقة تهديدية كمسئول حكومى مفوض وأخبر زملائنا صراحة أن الحكومة المصرية
تريد شركتنا أن تتعاون تعاون تام مع نجيب ساويرس ، وأن المشروع مشروع ساويرس
بأمر الرئيس مبارك .
وأخيراً .. عرفنا أن عملية المناقصة كلها مرتبة مسبقاً ، فقد خسر ساويرس
الترخيص صورياً لصالح مجمعة من المزايدين متضمنين مجموعة ألكان ثم بكى واعترض
لكى يكافأ بخصخصة شركة التليفونات الحكومية الأصلية ( أرنتو ) والآن (موبينيل )
وهذه الشركة كانت تستحق بأى حال من الأحوال أكثر مما دفعه ساويرس ومجموعة
الموبيني فيها وكان يجب أن تباع بسعر أعلى بكثير .

بلايين أخرى خلال الأربع سنوات القادمة من الشعب المصرى الفقير .
أننا نثق كل الثقة أن الموبينيل منحت لساويرس عن طريق الفساد والرشوة وضد
القانون المصرى وأن هذه الشركة يجب أن تأخذ من هؤلاء النصابين عديمى الأخلاق
لأن المناقصة لم تكن قانونية أبداً كما يستلزم القانون المصرى .
فى بلد محترم لا بد من طرد ومحاكمة هذا الوزير الغير أمين – طلعت حماد – ولا بد
من إعادة طرح المشروع عالمياً بطريقة شريفة حتى ينال الشعب المصرى والحكومة
المصرية 2 بليون جنيه مكسباً سرقها منهم ساويرس بالإضافة إلى 2 : 3 بليون جنيه
فى الأربع سنوات القادمة ليصبح الإجمالى المسروق من الشعب الفير 4 : 5 بليون
جنيه .
إنى أتوسل إليك مدام أولبرايت أن تعملى على إيقاف جميع المساعدات – التى تجمع
من دافعى الضرائب فى أمريكا – لمصر فوراً فإن المساعدات الأمريكية تذهب من
الأبواب الخلفية إلى الوزراء الجشعين وعائلة ساويرس بسبب الفساد وانعدام
الأخلاق والقانون فى الحكومة المصرية فهناك القانون لا يسرى إلا على الفقراء .

The Plan
Christianity in the USA and Europe controls the world: wealth, technologies,
military, politics and finances, they have the highest income per capita.
The Christian book, the bible, is the same for Christians and Jews. We are
brothers: the Old Testament for Jews, the New Testament for Christians.
Israel has one of the highest per capita incomes in the world today. Why?
Because of Islam and its corrupt leaders! Islam is a backward religion. In
all countries where there is Islam there is poverty, and corruption at the
highest level with dictators of the highest order. Saudi Arabia and the
Princes, the Sheikhs in the Gulf, Egypt's Moubarek President for life, Syria
Assad, Iraq Sadam, Nigeria, Iran - Taliban, Indonesia, Malaysia, Pakistan,
Morocco, Algeria, Libya etc. etc. Not one Muslim country escapes the tyranny
of the leaders of Islam.
Who elected these leaders? Who ever voted for Hosni Moubarek President for
life?
All these countries are going backward, run by dictators who make their
people suffer. The dishonest rulers of Islam use this religion as a drug for
the poor people to submit, so they can steal these countries blind,
including Egypt. The only answer to help the poor 1 billion Muslim people is
to change the belief that is destroying them. Islam and Communism are both
finished.
The concept of a "Greater Israel with the backing of the church" and America
is the only answer to the Arab world in order to get all these dictators
out. Israel with Arab oil resources and cheap Arab labour, with Israeli and
American capital and technology will make the entire area bloom. So all
these poor Arab people will prosper and will have a better life, higher
income, better health, better education and more technology.
To get these thieves and their sons and relatives out of this area - and
create a kind of very controlled, mild and modern Islam. In the long run,
with the Greater Israel concept, we will water down this very backward
fanatic religion which has been drugging the population of this area for
1400 years.

The Egyptian Strategy:
1.) The Government. The politicians who control the Government are
dishonest and corruption always starts at the top, hence, we are currently
in good control.
2.) There are 15 groups which control the Egyptian economy. Today we are by
far the largest and the other groups just follow us like sheep.
3.) The banks. Out of the major 8 banks, it is just how much you pay to get
whatever loan you want. This has been fruitful and will continue to be
excellent for us.
4.) The economy. It is in good shape and our brothers' plan is to:
a.) Encourage as many Government privatisations to the Stock Market as is
possible in order to secure the assets in our hands.
b.) Borrow as much as humanly possible from the banks using minimum
guarantees.
c.) Collect all the money we can from the Stock Market in order to suck all
the savings and liquidity from the market. This is easily achieved by
selling shares of our companies to the public.
d.) Use very little of our own capital: Banks will eventually become short
of money due to their deposits being loaned out. All the public savings are
either locked up in banks or in the Stock Market, so there will be no
liquidity in Egypt. We are confident that this will produce a crash in Egypt
bigger than the crash in Asia.
e.) Then we will buy the best companies in Egypt at 5% of their value, so we
will control the economy through owning the best businesses in Egypt.
f.) Finally, for consolidating our control over the economy, we can bring in
more capital from our friends in the north. And the complete job is done.
5.) Our next urgent step is to control the Egyptian press and the media. We
have started with records, cinemas, clubs, advertising, radio, cable TV, the
Internet and working on controlling the telephone networks. Also we are
financing magazines, newspapers, and feeding and controlling the most
important writers. To control the press in Egypt is paramount to our cause,
like the Jews' control of the press world-wide. We have already cut the
tongues of all who have opposed us and the Egyptian press does not dare to
print our names.
6.) It is also paramount for our goal to control the Egyptian banks. Get the
big banks out of the Government's hands and privatised. Our and our friends'
capitals are available to buy them, and the entire bank privitisations
decision-makers are under our control. We don't care how much money these
banks make in profits; we just want to take the people's deposits in our
hands. "Yes deposits", these deposits are free cash for us to buy whatever
is left in Egypt. And we will convert most of these deposits into hard
currency overseas in order to dry up liquidity in the market.
7.) When these banks are empty of cash, they will collapse along with the
Egyptian pound and the entire economy will be our hostage and in our hands.
The Government will be very weak and will never be strong enough to take
away our assets. Then our partners and we will dictate the terms to the
Government, both financially and politically.
Today, capitals control the world not guns. In Egypt we plan to be in every
business sector in the economy. Jews control America through their capital,
we will do exactly the same in Egypt. "The Christian and the Copt capital
control".
We presently possess big assets and have infiltrated most if not all the
sectors of the Egyptian economy.
Money talks and in Egypt we promise the power to Christianity and the Copts
in Egypt through owning as many sectors of the economy as humanly possible
and through controlling the banks and the media. The entire Government will
be just a front as our paid employees and the suffering of our People, "the
Copts" for the past 1400 years will end.
When Egypt goes down, the entire Middle East will crumble with it according
to our and our friends' precise plan. Syria and Lebanon are under Israeli
feet; Libya and Iran are paralysed by boycott; Iraq is devastated by
America, and Saudi Arabia, Kuwait and the Gulf States are occupied and
dictated to by America. The Church and we will take care of Egypt.

إن المسيحية التى يعتنقها العالم الغربى فى أمريكا وأوروبا جعلته يسيطر على

فهى دين التقدم والتمدن كما أن الإنجيل – كتاب العالم المسيحى – إنما هو كتاب
واحد للمسيحيين واليهود فهم أخوة فى الدين فقد كان العهد القديم لليهود والعهد
الجديد للمسيحيين .
إن إسرائيل واحدة من البلاد صاحبة أعلى مستوى دخل فى العالم .. لماذا ؟ أما
الإسلام فدين التخلف والرجعية والإرهاب فى العالم كله ففى جميع البلاد التى
تعتنق الإسلام تعانى الشعوب من الفقر والجهل والمرض بسبب قهر الحكم والحكام
الديكتاتوريين المسلمين.. ففى السعودية وخليج الشيوخ ومصر ( مبارك رئيساً مدى
الحياة ) وسوريا ( الأسد ) والعراق ( صدام ) وإيران وأفغانستان وإندونيسيا
وماليزيا وباكستان والمغرب والجزائر وليبيا وغيرهم لا يوجد بلد إسلامى واحد
استطاع التخلص من الحكام المسلمين . من أنتخب هؤلاء الحكام ؟ ومن انتخب حسنى
مبارك رئيساً مدى الحياة ؟
كل هذه البلاد تتخلف والشعوب تعانى بسبب ديكتاتورية الحكام . إن الحكام
المسلمين الفاسدين يستخدمون الدين كأفيون للشعوب الفقيرة حتى يخضعوا لهم ولم
يستطيعون بذلك سرقة بلادهم سراً مثلما يحدث فى مصر . الحل الوحيد لمساعدة
البليون مسلم المقهورين هو تغيير المعتقدات التى حطمتهم . إن الإسلام والشيوعية
قد انتهت للأبد .
إن فكرة إسرائيل الكبرى بمساندة الكنيسة مع أمريكا هى الإجابة والحل لخلاص
العالم العربى من التخلف والديكتاتورية . فإسرائيل مع منابع البترول العربية
الغنية والعمالة العربية الرخيصة ورؤوس الأموال الإسرائيلية والأمريكية ستخلق
مجتمعاً جديداً مزدهراً ينعم فيه الشعب المسلم بحياة أفضل ودخل أكبر وتعليم على
أرقى مستوى وتكنولوجيا متقدمة جداً كما سينعم الشعب بالأهم وهى الحرية .
نعم الحل هو التخلص من الحكام اللصوص وأبنائهم وأقاربهم بطردهم خارج المنطقة
كلها وكان العمل على خلق إسلام جديد معتدل ومسيطر عليه يقبل فكرة إسرائيل
العظمى حتى تتغلغل فيه على المدى الطويل وتنهى الدين المتخلف المتعصب الذى عانت
منه المنطقة لمدة 1400 سنة .
الاستراتيجية المصرية
1) الحكومة جميع السياسيين الذين يديرون الحكومة غير شرفاء والفساد يأتى دائما
من القمة لذلك فنحن نتحكم فيهم جيدا
2) هناك 15 مجموعة تتحكم فى الاقتصاد ونحن اليوم اكبر مجموعة على الإطلاق
والمجموعات الأخرى تتبعنا كالأغنام
3) البنوك فى جميع الثمانية بنوك الكبرى بلا استثناء بقدر الرشوة يكون حجم
القرض وهذا ممتاز ومطلوب جدا لأهدافنا .
4) الاقتصاد يبدو فى صورة طيبة وحطة إخواننا هى :
 تشجيع الحكومة على اكبر قدر من الخصخصة لسوق المال حتى نضمن الأصول فى
أيدينا.
 الاقتراض بأقصى واكبر قدر من البنوك باستخدام اقل الضمانات .
 العمل على جمع الأموال من الأسواق وهذا سهل التحقيق ببيع بعض الحصص من
شركاتنا للشعب.
 استخدام اقل القليل من راس مالنا وبالتالى سيصبح لدى البنوك عجز فى
الأموال لان الودائع استخدمت فى القروض الكثيرة وكل مدخرات الشعب أما محجوزة فى
البنوك أو فى البورصة وبذلك لن تكون هناك أى سيولة نقدية فى مصر اكبر مما حدث
فى آسيا .
 وعندئذ سنشترى احسن الشركات فى مصر بحوالى 5 % فقط من قيمتها
وسنتحكم فى الاقتصاد عن طريق امتلاك احسن الأعمال والمشاريع فى مصر.
 وأخيرا لإحكام السيطرة التامة على الاقتصاد نستطيع استخدام المزيد من
رؤوس الأموال من أصدقائنا فى الشمال لإتمام المهمة .
5) الأمر العاجل والهام الآن هو السيطرة على الصحافة المصرية والإعلام وقد
بدأنا بالفعل بالتسجيلات والسينما والنوادى الليلية والدعاية والراديو وقنوات
تليفزيونية خاصة والإنترنت ونعمل على التحكم فى التليفونات وأيضا نمول المجلات
والكتاب المهيمن فى الصحافة حتى تكون لنا السيطرة كما يسيطر اليهود على الإعلام
فى العالم وقد قطعنا فعلا السنة المعارضين لنا والصحافة المصرية لاتجرا على ذكر
أسمائنا بأى سوء.
6) أن البنوك المصرية قطاع هام جدا لتحقيق أهدافنا فخروج البنوك الكبرى من
سيطرة الحكومة عليه بالخصخصة ووجودنا هناك للاستيلاء عليها بمساعدة رؤوس أموال
أصدقائنا من الشمال سيسمح لنا باقتناص الودائع المصرية وهذا أهم جدا من الفائدة
العائدة من عمل البنك نفسه فهى أموال سائلة تمكنا من شراء المتبقى من الشركات
والمشاريع المهمة فى مصر وسنقوم بتحويل معظمها إلى عملة صعبة عبر البحار حتى
تنعدم السيولة فى السوق .
7) وعندما تصبح البنوك خالية من السيولة ستنهار وسينهار معها الجنيه المصرى
وسيصبح الاقتصاد كله رهينة فى أيدينا و أيدى شركائنا وبالتالى ستصبح الحكومة
ضعيفة ولن تقوى ابد على اخذ آى أصول من أيدينا وسنملى عليها نحن وأصدقائنا
أوامرنا وشروطنا فى كل شىء ماليا وسياسيا .
إن رأس المال هو الذى يتحكم فى العالم اليوم وليس السلاح ونحن نخطط لآن نكون
فى جميع قطاعات أعمال الاقتصاد فى مصر فاليهود يتحكمون فى أمريكا عن طريق ر أس
المال ونحن سنفعل مثلهم تماما فى مصر تحكم راس المال القبطى والمسيحي وفى الوقت
الحاضر نحن نمتلك أصول كبيرة جدا فقد اخترقنا فعلا معظم إن لم يكن كل قطاعات
الاقتصاد المصرى
إن الأموال تفعل كل شىء وفى مصر نحن نعد أن تكون السيطرة للمسيحيين والأقباط عن
طريق تملك معظم قطاعات الاقتصاد وعن طريق السيطرة على البنوك والصحافة وستصبح
الحكومة ألعوبة وعبارة عن واجهة فقط من بعض الموظفين ندفع لهم رواتبهم وستنتهى
معاناة شعبنا القبطى والتى استمرت قرابة الـ 1400 سنة

International: Egyptian police ‘crucify’ and rape Christians Thousands of
Copts in Egypt have been nailed to the doors of their homes, beaten and
tortured as authorities crack down on non-Muslims.

EGYPTIAN Christians have been subjected to horrific crucifixion rituals,
raped and tortured by the security forces during a crackdown on the ancient
Coptic community, according to international human rights and Christian
groups.
Hundreds of Copts have been rounded up in southern Egypt after suspected
retaliatory killings involving local Muslims and Christians. Apart from the
crucifixions, teenage girls have been raped and babies as young as three
months savagely beaten.
Most Copts are too frightened to speak about their plight. But the local
bishop and two priests are now facing the death penalty for bringing the
persecution to the attention of the world. To the embarrassment of President
Hosni Mubarak. whose government is attempting to win back tourists after
last year's Luxor massacre by Islamic militants, 29 American Congressman
have now written to him to demand an end to the torture.
The Egyptian embassy in London refused to comment last week. However, over
the past month, police have reportedly detained about 1,200 Christians in
Al-Kosheh, near Luxor in Upper Egypt. Seized in groups of 50 at a time, many
were nailed to crosses or manacled to doors with their legs tied together,
then beaten and tortured with electric shocks to their genitals, while
police denounced them as "infidels".
An 11-year-old boy, Romani Boctor, was hung upside down from an electric
ceiling fan and tortured as the fan rotated. Young girls were raped and
mothers were forced to lay their babies on the floor of police stations and
watch police beat them with sticks.
Bishop Anba Wissa, the local head of the Coptic Church, said: "It was
horrific - entire families were severely beaten and tortured, and some of
the children will be scarred for life. When I protested to the regional
police chief, he said 'you haven't seen anything yet'."
The bishop and two priests were detained last week by police and charged on
five counts including "using religion for the purpose of inciting strife and
damaging national unity", charges punishable by death or life imprisonment.
The Al-Kosheh crackdown followed the murders of two Christians, allegedly by
Muslims seeking revenge for the poisoning of one of their brothers, although
doctors had recorded his death as due to natural causes. Rather than
investigate. Bishop Wissa said, police simply rounded up Christians,
apparently to avoid a clash between religious communities in the town which
has 35,000 Christians and 15,000 Muslims.
Although Coptic Christians make up six per cent of the population of Egypt
and their numbers include the former United Nations Secretary General,
Boutros Boutros Ghali, the government refuses to recognise them as an
official minority and they have suffered persecution for years from Islamic
extremists.
This latest incident is the first time that the police have been the
perpetrators and the Coptic community fears it may be the sign of worse to
come. It follows the closure in July of a Coptic church in the Maadi suburb
of Cairo, which was surrounded by seven armoured vehicles as its doors and
windows were sealed by security forces.
Although President Mubarak portrays himself as a moderate, human rights
activists believe that the police action reflects a wider infiltration of
Islamic extremists into senior official positions. "This is not an isolated
incident," said Joseph Assad, a project co-ordinator with Freedom House, the
Washington-based centre for religious liberties founded by Eleanor
Roosevelt. "I fear Egypt is turning by stealth into an Islamic state".
"There is this image of Egypt as a secular country which is fighting
fundamentalism," said Simon Qadri, of Christian Solidarity, a human rights
agency, "but it is not true at all. Islamic law is the basis of the
constitution and there is no freedom of religion. If anything, Mubarak tries
to appease the fundamentalists."
Copts were the ancient inhabitants of Egypt before the Arab invasions ,in
the seventh century, but have been surrounded for centuries by a hostile
Muslim majority. They now need presidential permission to open a church,
their history cannot be taught in schools and people can be arrested under
the National Security Act for converting to their faith.
Mustafa Shukravi, a human rights activist who converted to Christianity and
was jailed for 10 months, was granted asylum in England last month. He
recalled: "I was beaten with sticks and electric shocks. I was hung,
blindfolded, made to stand for five days and five nights."
Despite the outcry over the Al Kosheh attack, the Mubarak government has
refused to take action. A letter of protest from Freedom House to the
Egyptian ambassador in Washington elicited the reply that only 25-40
Christians were arrested, adding: "Bishop Wissa is known for his extreme
religious views and stirring sectarianism."
Last week the United States Senate approved the Freedom from Religious
Persecution Act under which President Clinton is obliged to take some form
of action against all countries cited by the State Department as not
allowing religious liberty. Egypt is prominent on this list.
The State Department is sending officials to Cairo to meet Bishop Wissa next
week. The bishop has medical reports on many of those detained, some of whom
will be permanently disfigured, on addition to photographs of their injuries
and hopes that these may be used to lobby for a boycott on tourism or other
form of sanctions.
But the Clinton administration sees Mr Mubarak as a key player in peace
negotiations between Israel and the Palestinians and seems unlikely to risk
upsetting him by reducing its pounds 1.3 billion aid package.

واثنان من القساوسة يواجهون الآن عقوبة الإعدام لأنهم أطلعوا العالم عما يحدث
من اضطهاد ولإحراج الرئيس مبارك – الذى تحاول حكومته أن تسترجع السياحة مرة
أخرى بعد مذبحة الأقصر فى السنة الماضية على أيدى المسلحين الإسلاميين – قام 29
من أعضاء الكونجرس الأمريكى بالكتابة له مطالبين بنهاية هذا التعذيب .
السفارة المصرية فى لندن ترفض التعليق الأسبوع الماضى بالرغم من أنه فى خلال
الشهر الماضى قام البوليس المصرى باعتقال 1200 مسيحى فى الكشح بالقرب من الأقصر
فى صعيد مصر سجنوا فى مجموعات من 50 فرد ، الكثير دقت المسامير فيهم للصلب أو
كلبوا فى الأبواب مقيدين الأرجل وضربوا وعذبوا بوحشية بالصدمات الكهربية على
أعضائهم التناسلية فى حين كانوا ينادونهم بالكفرة .
صبى عمره 11 سنة "رومانى بكتور" يربط ورأسه لأسفل فى مروحة كهربائية ليدور معاه
وفتاة صغيرة اغتصبت وأمهات أجبرن على وضع أطفالهم على الأرض فى أقسام البوليس
ليعذبوا ويضربوا بالعصى أمام أعينهم .
الأسقف أنبا ويصا الرئيس المحلى للكنيسة القبطية يقول : لقد كان شىء مرعب كل
العائلات تضرب وتعذب بقسوة فظيعة ، أن بعض الأطفال سيظلوا مرعوبين طوال حياتهم
من هول ما حدث وعندما اعترضت لرئيس البوليس كان رده لى : أنك لم ترى شىء بعد
..!!
الأسقف واثنين من القساوسة يقبض عليهم الأسبوع الماضى بالبوليس ويتهموا بخمس
تهم منها استعمال الين للتحريض على الشغب وتحطيم الوحدة الوطنية وعقوبتهم
الإعدام أو السجن مدى الحياة .
أحداث الكشح المأساوية أعقبت مقتل اثنين من المسيحيين انتقاماً من المسلمين
لأخيهم الذى مات مسموماً كما يدعون بالرغم من أن تقرير الطبيب الشرعى أكد أن
الوفاة لأسباب طبيعية ، وبجانب التحقيقات التى جرت حاصر البوليس المسيحيين لمنع
الصدام بين الطوائف الدينية فى مدينة بها 35 ألف مسيحى و 15 ألف مسلم .
بالرغم من أن المسيحيين الأقباط يمثلون ستة بالمائة من سكان فى مصر ومن بينهم
سكرتير عام الأمم المتحدة السابق إلا أن الحكومة ترفض الاعتراف بهم رسمياً
كأقلية ويعانون من القهر والاضطهاد لسنوات من المتطرفين المسلمين .
إن الأحداث الأخيرة تمثل سابقة تحدث لأول مرة حيث أن البوليس هو المعتدى
والمجتمع القبطى يخشى أن تكون هذه علامة على أحداث سيئة قادمة فقد سبق هذا
إغلاق كنيسة قبطية فى المعادى بالقاهرة فى يولية بعد أن أحيطت بسبع عربات محملة
بالجنود وقامت قوات الأمن بتشميع الأبواب والشبابيك .
مع أن الرئيس مبارك يصور نفسه على أنه معتدل ويؤمن بحقوق الإنسان إلا أن
تجاوزات البوليس أثبتت اختراق المتطرفين الإسلاميين للمناصب الرسمية العليا ،
فجوزيف أسعد ( من مكتب حرية الأديان ) يقول أن هذا ليس عملاً فردياً وأنه يخشى
أن تتحول مصر إلى جمهورية إسلامية أخرى . ويقول سيمون قدرى ( من منظمة حقوق
الإنسان ) : هناك تصور أن مصر تحارب الأصولية والتطرف وهذا غير صحيح بالمرة
فالقانون الإسلامى أساس الحكم ولا توجد هناك حرية فى الأديان ومبارك يحاول أن
يظهر كرافض للأصولية والتطرف .
إن الأقباط هم السكان الأصليين فى مصر قبل الغزو العربى فى القرن السابع ولكنهم
حوصروا بالغالبية المسلمة العدائية لعدة قرون وهم يحتاجون الآن إلى تصريح من
الرئيس لإقامة كنيسة ولا يستطيعون تدريس تاريخهم فى المدارس والناس يقبض عليهم
تحت قانون الأمن العام لتغيرهم دينهم .
قال مصطفى شكرى ( عضو منظمة حقوق الإنسان ) والذى تحول إلى الدين المسيحى وسجن
لمدة عشرة أشهر : ضربت بالعصى وعذبت بالصدمات الكهربية وكنت أعلق مغمض العينين
وجعلونى أقف خمسة أيام وخمسة ليالى متصلة .
بالرغم مما حدث فى الكشح فحكومة مبارك ترفض أن تأخذ أى موقف إيجابى .. وفى رد
السفير المصرى فى واشنطن علفى خطابات الاعتراض والاستنكار من مكتب الحرية ذكر
أن المقبوض عليهم 25 : 40 فقط وأن الأسقف ويصا معروف بوجهة نظره المتطرفة فى
الدين .
صدق الأسبوع الماضى مجلس النواب الأمريكى على قانون بمعاقبة البلاد التى تضطهد
الأديان وبهذا القانون فإن كلينتون مجبر على أخذ رد فعل ضد البلاد التى تحدد
أنها لا تسمح بحرية الأديان ومصر واحدة منها . ستقوم الإدارة الأمريكية الأسبوع
القادم بإرسال مسئولين للقاهرة لمقابلة الأسقف ويصا الذى لديه تقارير طبية
للعديد من المعذبين والذين أصيب بعضهم بعاهات مستديمة بالإضافة لصور لجروحهم
ويأمل أن تستخدم فى حملة ضد السياحة لمصر أو فى شكل آخر من أشكال العقاب .
تعتقد إدارة كلينتون أن مبارك عامل أساسى فى عملية مفاوضات السلام بين إسرائيل
وفلسطين ولذلك لا يريدون إحباطه بخفض المعونة الأمريكية لمصر .

THE LUXOR MASSACRE:
NOT THE PROBLEM, JUST A SYMPTOMO

Mr. President:
One year ago, on February 12, 1997. Muslim extremists murdered 10 young
Egyptian Christians (Copts), while they were praying in St. George's church
in Abu Qurqas, Egypt. Nine months later, on November 17, 1997. violence in
Egypt gave birth to another horrible massacre when a band of the same
terrorist group, using some of the same weapons, savagely killed 58 tourists
in Egypt's Valley of the Queens in Luxor.
The Abu Qurqas massacre attracted very little attention from you or from
your Egyptian Government. On the other hand, the Luxor massacre shocked
Egypt, alarmed by rhe prospect of loosing over 2 billion dollars in revenues
from tourism. The Luxor massacre also shocked the world taking place in a
country that many in the West deem to be "safe" from this kind of fanatic
barbarism.
Not too long ago. Egypt had been a tolerant nation, where Muslims,
Christians, Jews as well as Greeks and Italians lived together peacefully.
But Luxor shouldn't have been such a surprise, Mr. President.
For more than two decades, these same murderers have been killing Egyptian
Christians (the Copts) in their own country: attacking them in their fields,
shops and clinics, burning their properties and executing worshippers in
cold blood inside their churches. All these atrocities have been going on
while your government was fuming a blind eye, considering your Christian
subjects as dispensable second class citizens.
In the past five years Muslim fanatics have killed 106 Christians in Egypt
with, not more than one or two of the killers being arrested, tried and
convicted.
In the past two decades 711 of Egypt's Coptic Christians (members of a
cultured, proud minority who have lived in Egypt for centuries, well before
the dawn of Islam ) have been wounded in attacks. According to the National
Unity Center of Human Rights in Cairo, 561 properties and businesses of
Christians were targets of attacks by Muslims;
117 churches were burned or ransacked, and 56 homes destroyed.
Mr. President, this persecution has been happening under your watch.
It has aroused little outcry in Egypt because your government never
condemned such acts. Indeed, your government enshrines the abrogation of
basic human and religious rights of Christians as part of its policy.
Mr. President, the over 10 million Christian citizens of Egypt don't have
the right to build or repair churches. They are denied top positions in your
government, your army, your police, and Egypt's universities, simply because
of their faith. They have no elected representatives in your parliament. And
when victimized, their attackers are let off by the courts with little or no
punishment. The government has set up a parallel Islamic education system
from which Egyptian Christians are banned.
Members of the Muslim religious establishment in the employ of your
government spread anti-Christian propaganda in broadcasts over government
owned radio and television.
Mr. President: how can you expect to keep further massacres, like Luxor,
from happening when you give fanatics the green light to persecute a segment
of your own people? How long do you think it will be before extremists call
for the murder of all non-Muslims; and then of "bad Muslims" and, then, of
everyone except themselves? Extremism, Mr. President, has no limits, just
look at Afghanistan and Algeria.
Mr. President the lesson of Luxor is this: If you legitimize assault against
one segment of your people, you legitimize it against all.
Your silence makes you an accomplice to these crimes.
WE APPEAL TO YOU, Mr. President, to denounce and put an end to these
practices and to pull up violence by its roots in the Egyptian media and
educational system. Egyptian Christians should not be treated as second
class citizens or as "cheap prey" to feed fanatics. Let Egyptian Christians
practice their faith and have their rights as full citizens of the country.
Egypt has always thrived when it was a tolerant and open society for all.

DESCENDANTS OF THE PHARAOHS HAVE NO PLACE IN MODERN EGYPT!

Mr. President:
The world has been hearing your voice, loud and clear, defending the rights
of the Palestinians, the Bosnian Muslims, and, recently, the Iraqis.
Ironically, Mr. President, there are over 10 million Christians (the Copts),
citizens of your country, who live within your borders, to whom you have
denied the very basics of recognized human rights.
Egypt's Christians (the Copts) are often ignored by your government. Copts
are not allowed to build or repair a church without a presidential decree,
and without meeting several rigid restrictions. No chancellor or dean of any
of Egypt's 15 universities and 150 higher institutes is a Copt, nor is any
of the appointed 26 governors and vice-governors or city mayors. There are
no Copts among senior army or police officers, or major ambassadors. Coptic
girls (including the under-age) are regularly kidnapped, raped and forced
into Islam by Muslim fundamentalists, with the collaboration of your
security forces.
Coptic history, language and culture are a neglected, if not a forbidden
domain in its own country. Copts have no elected representatives in your
parliament. Copts in Upper Egypt are being forced by Muslim fundamentalists
to pay "jizya", Mafia-style protection money. If they don't pay they are
killed by the extremists, and if they do pay they risk going to prison by
your government for supporting terrorism. Copts, by the thousands, are
leaving their small towns, seeking refuge in big cities or, emigrating from
Egypt altogether, thus fulfilling the extremists' plans of ethnic cleansing
and of creating a pure Islamic society in Egypt.
Copts, Mr. President, are experiencing, under your presidency, the worst
hardships in their modem history. Yet, astonishingly, you repeatedly denied
the existence of all the above factual persecution.
In an interview published in Al-Ahram, Egypt's semi-official newspaper, on
August 15,
1997. you declared that you saw no problems in regards to the Copts. You
stressed the same notion in your speech to university students and
professors, on February 17,
1998. The facts, Mr. President, are that Coptic complaints are not a product
of their imagination; these are laws and practices affecting millions of
real people, documented by credible and neutral sources such as the U.S.
State Dept., Jubilee Campaign, Voice of the Martyrs, Open Doors
International, Christian Solidarity International, and Egyptian
organizations for human rights.
Mr. President:
By denying the above glaring evidence of persecution, and continuing your
blatant discrimination against the peaceful Copts, and resisting finding a
solution, these problems will become worse, until it will be too late for a
peaceful co-existence between Muslims and Christians within Egypt.
Human rights groups, foreign leaders, members of the U.S. Congress and
moderate Muslims in Egypt have urged you to end the official discrimination
against the Copts, but all in vain!
Mr. President: All that Copts are seeking is equality with Muslims; is this
too much to ask for? Can Christian Copts, descendant of the Pharaohs, have a
place in the lands of their forefathers?

HEADLINE: Canada should speak out to help Egyptian Copts

The latest episode of the abuse suffered by Egypt's Coptic Christian
community "began inconspicuously," in the words of Associated Press reporter
Anthony Shadid, who wrote Oct. 31 from the sire of the event, El-Kosheh
village in Upper Egypt. "Two young Christians killed in a poor region of
Egypt known for its vendettas and guns." the AP report continued.
"The police crackdown that followed in the mostly Christian farming town
wasn't commonplace, however. Villagers, human-rights groups and church
officials say hundreds were arrested in a month-long campaign of terror that
included torture, threats of rape, hostage-taking and even bribes to
officers for lenient treatment."
The Copts are again crying for help. This time, however, their voice is
stronger than it used to be. Coptic emigres all over the world are getting
more organized not only to protest against armed groups' attacks on their
compatriots, but also to lobby host countries to persuade the Egyptian
government to respect the rights of the Copts as Egyptian citizens.
Extensive analyses show that attacks by violent Islamic groups on Copts,
their property and their churches since the early 1990s are not random
occurrences, as Egyptian officials always claim.
How can anyone honestly deny that Copts are targeted because of their
religion, when sectors of villages or suburbs of cities that are largely or
entirely inhabited by Copts are attacked and systematically terrorized?
Attacks on Copts in Egypt started before Islamic militants began to target
Egyptian officials and foreign tourists in the 1990s. This fact, too, is
indicative of the sectarian nature of what violent militants consider a holy
war to be waged by them against the "religious other."
In its May 1992 report on the massacre of 15 Copts in the city of Dairout,
in Upper Egypt, the Cairo-based Egyptian Organization for Human Rights
detailed the "systematic" reign of terror that was forced on the city's
Copts by the Islamic Group for a number of years. The EOHR said: "It is
worthy of note that the statements issued by the
Ministry- of the Interior at the time insisted on portraying the matter as
being in the nature of an inter-family dispute, deliberately cloaking any
sectarian aspect to it."
Other reports and studies attribute violence against Copts to discriminatory
practices applied by the government and public authorities. In a statement
in February 1997, following a massacre of 10 Coptic youths inside a church
in Upper Egypt, the Arab Organization for Human Rights demanded the Egyptian
government take "a firm stand against some discriminatory practices that
face Egyptian Copts."
Official discriminatory practices and forms of religious intolerance
encourage attacks on' Copts. The latest act of persecution directed against
Copts, which was committed by members of the Egyptian police itself, is a
case in point.
In its report on this event, the Egyptian Organization for Human Rights said
the police authorities explained the mass arrests as pre-emptive "in order
to avoid unrest between the Muslim and Christian populations."
Christian religious leaders, human-rights workers and residents of the
village believe that the two men were killed by five Muslim men and that the
police have run roughshod over the Christian community ro frame a Christian
suspect.
Copts inside and outside Egypt saw in this incident more stark evidence of
the persecution directed against them. and a fuming point in the scheme,
which, some believe, is connived by different players, including the
Egyptian government. For while such acts have gone on for many years, the
government has been categorically denying the existence of any
discrimination or persecution against this beleaguered minority.
It is intriguing to hear Hosni Mubarak. the president of Egypt, assert that
the "terrorism" plaguing Egypt is an international phenomenon, and therefore
needs to be dealt with on a global level. I think he is absolutely right on
this. It is regrettable, however, that he seems to miss the connections
among "terrorism." abuse of human rights and the rule of a police siate. an
unholy triad that also ought to be confronted globally.
In a fall-page message published in the New York Times on Oct. 20. Coptic
activist groups in the West reiterated that "it is in Egypt's national
interest that democracy and human rights reign within its borders. And this
cannot be achieved without the full recognition and guarantee of the right
of the Copts in Egypt."
The failure to protect minority communities frustrates the universal ideals
of peace, coexistence and democracy.
Canada and other western democracies have important roles to play. not only
in combating terrorism, but in implementing UN human-rights principles and
laws in a more vigorous way to help spread peaceful co-existence between all
peoples of this troubled region.
